The "Pappa" a thick tomato soup was delicious especially if you get it topped with the burrata or mozzarella. The roasted rabbit was delicious (coniglio porchetta) . My husband ate the "tordelli lucchiese con ragout " , a filled pasta in a meat sauce. This dish is typical of the region of Lucca.
This is off the squares with their touristy places with every table fill with masses of tourists elbow to elbow. This restaurant instead is quiet. Some of the menu is translated to English, but it definitely is not a place catering to your typical tourist. It would be good to help your waiter with a little Italian . Or you can point at the menu and make do.
Great for regional specialties.
